The Indian Singer Mohit Chauhan Rocking In Kathmandu

We hope that we all know Mohit Chauhan the Indian Singer:indian singer,mohit chauhan,doori.Mohit Chauhan is an Indian singer, most known for his work as a playback singer for Bollywood movies as well as the former front-man of the Indipop band Silk Route. He is a two-time recipient of the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.

He never received formal training in music, but sings and plays guitar, harmonica and the flute. After completing his education in Himachal, Chauhan came to Delhi where he formed the band Silk Route with his schoolmate Kem Trevedi (pianist) in 1996. He started his career singing Indian pop songs with the band Silk Route, with Arpit Gupta which released two albums, Boondein (1998) and Pehchan. The song "Dooba Dooba" became a hit in the Indipop music scene. However, the band dissolved. He would stay off the scene for a while until he came back with the song "Guncha" in 2005 from the "Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh" for which, he would also compose. Impressed by his vocals, he was then approached by A. R. Rahman to sing for the movie Rang De Basanti. However, it wouldn't be until 2007 when music director Pritam approached him for the song Tum Se Hi for the movie Jab We Met that Chauhan would finally achieve mainstream success.

Next week he is rocking in kathmandu with his band singing his own song. The proceedings of the event, which is being organized by the Nepalese Army Wives Association, will go toward building a vocational training center aimed at empowering the wives of the Nepali army men.

According to Desal Lama, Proprietor of The Premiere Events which is managing the event, popular Nepali singer Nima Rumba and the reggae group Joint Family Internationale will also be performing at the concert which will be opened by a 15-minute-long performance by the Nepal Army Band.

The price of the tickets for the concert starts at Rs 500, and are available at various outlets in Durbar Marg, Boudha, Lazimpat, Jhamsikhel, Thamel, Civil Mall in Sundhara, New Baneshwar, Koteshwar, Naxal, New Road and Pokhara.
