Movie Review of Apabad

Recently released movie "Apabad" is the story of a BBA passed fellow who dreams to be a prolific writer. But there are certain factors that keep him away from his dream- his father who frequently insist him to join job and earn money despite being vacant. After unable to tolerate his father vexing, the protagonist Suyog (Raj Ballav), not a greater than life character but a simple character, attempts to kill himself but fortunately he reaches to the isolated place where there is no sign of any human existence. He is apart from his parents and his beloved to whom he was yet to purpose.
The movie repeatedly takes you to back to the past life of Suyog and clarifies his reason for his attempt to commit suicide. Initially, Suyog enjoys the isolated life. He turns out to be barbaric and struggle to meet his hand to mouth for nearly 2-3 months. Meanwhile he realizes that happiness is absurd if it is not shared. At last he returns to his dwelling place and he finds himself in the better position and his dream come true of being prolific writer. The whole movie moves around Suyog.

Thanks to Director Subash Koirala for this hard work and minuet observation, without which Apabad was not likely to get the realistic presentation it has. The story unfolds slowly and you may get bore but at the end you are sure to enjoy the movie. For those who enjoy the entertaining movies where the incidents unfold easily, it is really a no-movie. The viewer needs huge patient to watch the movie "Apabad".

However, most of the dialogues are philosophical in tone. Dialogue is the significant ornament that has really supported the plot of the movie. I don't have plans but I have dreams and other dialogues are catchy among others.

The movie cast really few characters. Nisha Adhikari as Sunanda is a nice girl who plays the love interest of Koirala in the film. She has a purpose in the movie while Rabi Giri and Bijaya Giri have justified their parts as Suyog's parents. However, it must be admitted that Raj Ballav Koirala still needs to work hard to gain professionalism in his acting career. His acting may disappoint viewers.

Though there are flaws in the movie, music part is really convincing and catchy.

Highly hyped movie Apabad is a lesson teaching movie and it is worth watching it. Specially for youths, it is a must watch movie. The movie "Apabad" is likely to be an apabad for the Nepali Film Industry.
