Van Halen's 2012 reunion has hit a snag -- the final three months and 31 dates of the group's North American reunion run have been abruptly postponed.
The Van Halen tour will continue as regularly scheduled through the group's May 26 show at the New Orleans Arena, but all of the planned dates from July 7 through Sept. 25 have been scrapped. Although the band has yet to release an official statement or explanation for the postponement, a rep for the group confirms the unexpected touring news.
Van Halen Tour Review: It's the Eddie Show
After years of inter-band feuding, the 80s rock icons brought back original singer David Lee Roth for a reunion tour in 2007 and inked a deal with Interscope Records in late 2010. "A Different Kind of Truth," the band's first album with Roth on vocals since 1984, was released in February and has sold 377,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Van Halen's reunion tour kicked off on Feb. 18 and has visited 31 continental arenas since. Bassist Wolfgang Van Halen posted on Twitter following a May 13 performance in Winnipeg, "Awesome show in Winnipeg AND the @LAKings won game 1! Couldn't have asked for a better night…"
